Running for Mayor of Toronto in Canada

Every now and then the world has been blessed with outstanding and highly dedicated people running for a political office. At the moment, one of such persons is running to become the next Mayor of Toronto, in Canada. His name is Mitchell L. Gold who dedicated all of his lifetime working hard to help make people's life better from every aspect one may imagine. He traveled extensively and he participated in numerous useful conferences on topics of current national and international concern.
Mr. Gold is currently the Vice President for North America of the International Association of Educators for World Peace. This organization is dedicated to United Nations Goals of peace education, environmental protection, human rights and disarmament. Mr. Gold has been blessed with intelligence and with a good sense of priorities. He realizes that the strength of a city is to be measured not only by a good moral character but also by a strong civilian economy as well. He believes in peace education through which students will learn about the importance of family and social values. He reveres greatly Mother Nature, which nourishes all of us while he seeks at the same time for a healthy environment. Above all, Mr. Gold is very much concerned with human rights, which must be safeguarded by all means. He firmly believes that all the people of Toronto are entitled to an adequate health care system, a good education through better schools, and more respect for human life, which he views as sacred. The time has arrived when all those who have worked for a very long time for the solid build-up of a positive and constructive society are beginning to run for elective offices. The reason stems from the fact that through such elective offices one would be in a position to do and to achieve much more. Most of the work Mr. Gold performed in his life time consisted of volunteer type of jobs, that is, good and useful jobs with hardly any pay at all. Dedicated Life Experience If a tree is said to be judged by the fruit it gives, then Mitchell Gold would be the best candidate to become the Mayor of Peace for this great city of Toronto. His entire life is characterized by his ability to bring people together from very walk of life and profession. Mr. Mitchell Gold was instrumental many times in uplifting people from their stresses and miseries of life and in enabling them to function well once more. He is capable to sow the seeds of love and respect for everyone involved and concerned. After all, these should be viewed as indispensable qualities of every public servant. As a human being, Mitchell Gold is a deeply spiritual person. He transcends the boundaries of the various cultures and religions of our earthly community. This has enabled him always to treat human beings with dignity and respect. Most importantly, Mr. Gold is capable of bringing joy and happiness in the heart of every person he may encounter. It means to be wise in making good value judgments, to demonstrate understanding of the individual needs of others and to help them accordingly, and to have the courage and strength to persevere with good work until it is accomplished, no matter how long it would take. As an educator in his own right, Mr. Gold always believed in the importance for every human being to be given every opportunity to develop his/her full potential. This way, we may be assured of building a better future that would be characterized by progress, prosperity and peace. This capable good man often advocated people to enrich themselves with a multi-cultural experience and he tried to enable them to become acquainted with the United Nations' document on the Children Rights and the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Mr. Mitchell Gold believes that one of the reasons why we have so many conflicts lies in the fact that we were all born and raised in a culture of war environment. In his work, he always tried the best he could to replace the culture of war with the culture of peace, which initiates from the human heart. Man of Peace at Work One of the advantages for Canadians to have Mr. Mitchell Gold as their Mayor of Toronto, lies in the fact that he will do his best to heal all divisions that may possibly exist within this large city community. Like St. Augustine, Mitchell Gold firmly believes that if we love genuinely our neighbor, there would no need for human beings to have laws enacted. As St. Augustine used to say, those who truly love cannot break any law: ama et fac qoud vis – love and do what you like. The development of a true interdependence among people may help create a spirit of justice and well being for everyone without exception. Although change may not guarantee progress, there cannot be progress without a periodical change. As the famous saying goes, new brooms sweep clean.
