Yesterday - at the First Nation Center Mitch Gold asked the Candidates a question.
He talked first about the picture on the wall behind the candidates.
It was a rendition of the "great mind" - a male and female figure standing on the turtle (representing North
America) - holding the medicine wheel in their hands over their head and in
the centre of the Medicine wheel was the earth (North and South American
view). on the sides were shapes representing the animals. The main
picture contained the Tree of Peace on both sides of the painting emanating
from the minds of the ancients with a calm lake between the far off trees
and figures in the foreground.
Mitch Gold brought everyone's attention to the painting and appealed to the
participants to teach the message of the painting to:
City Council
The police
all city officials
all city programs
and both David Miller and Barbara Hall agreed - with Tom Jakobek agreeing
but to also incorporate other ethnic ideas as well (whatever that means)
It is up to the media to report on this commitment and see that they do keep their word (if they win)
The question should also be put to the other "Johns" who had left early.
Please ask Mr. Tory and Mr. Nunziata if they too will honour this idea.
Thanking you.
Mitch Gold
