Greetings Federico Mayor Zaragoza:
I have taken the time to read again your paper on Crises and Opportunity in order to reflect deeper upon the actual “call to action”.
I cannot help but think that your call to action is what I am proposing for the June 21st Ceremony.
Imagine yourself, Boutros Boutros Ghali, and a number of others that you may select – that attended the Inagural meeting of the Culture of Peace – and let's show how “implementation” takes place.
Truly this is one of the major problems of all conferences – the Implementation stage.
I think we do not need June 21st. We can begin now. Lets just celebrate on June 21st as part of the Live H20 Water Ceremony. Frankly I believe this is very sound thinking. (pun intended).
: further thoughts below:
– here in Mexico – but also all around the world through the notion of “intentionalizing water”. While some may say this is a little far fetched - having spiritual elders” around the world, those that believe in a “spiritual” aspect of our humanness - June 21st can be that day – this year – if we add our intention to it.
AND at the same time IMPLEMENT in real time your proposal in Puerto Penasco, Mexico – as a sample project that can be duplicated around the world – where like minded, concerned citizens, can easily, with the support of each other, issue Commuhnity Currencies. And these currencies linked by cross guarantees from community to community. This is being discussed by the Toronto Dollar Oganization and the Puerto Penasco Peso Organization. But this is only one immediate suggestion that we can implement - tomorrow.
So in your call to action, in addition I believe it will be important to document the story – as we put the call to action into place. I propose therefore that you consider this project in PP to be the test project and have a documentary done on the whole process.
This could be endorsed by the World Spanish Community working in conjunction with Canada, Mexico, and the US under an aspect of NAFTA – to demonstrate as we move through our process how our intentions need not be mishandled because of an existing limiting agreement made with an old mindset.
I think Canda's treatment of its First Nations Peoples ought not be left off the table as uncomfortable as it is for me as a Canadian. My country embarasses me with its level of consciousness as expressed through the Governor General of Canda and an equally embarassing person in addressing the wisdom of the Auditor General of Canada – both of whom, while well meaning may present obstacles to implementing any such program in Canada – trusting I am wrong in that assessment and welcome your asking them the question directly. Clearly I may have misinterpreted their past actions.
As for next steps: I think the event on June 21st is a good place to start.
Bring the indigenous peoples of the Neighbourhood together and bring out their concerns, stories etc have a true beginning of dialogue. This is a big step here. This is again part of the “spiritual” story of the coming together of the Eagle and the Condor.
