Dear Mr. McDonald:
I write to bring to your attention an exciting program that can satisfy one of the existing problems that your industry is facing, and at the same time facilitate the development of a stronger healthier "world".
I must say that we have never before approached your industry. Notwithstanding the past, and recognizing that we must operate from where we are, it seems that we have an opportunity to positively affect all of humankind while satisfying the current commitments being negotiated in the courts and newspapers on a daily basis across America.
To that end, I open mindedly suggest that you and your organization review the website: www.homeplanet.org and in particular go to the section on educational materials and look at the section, "how to quit smoking".
How do we work together? I am not certain at this moment. We have to give this some optimum thinking, perhaps even using our own materials to analyze the form of such an alliance.
But before we spend any time on thoughts in this direction, we ask you to respond as to level of interest in moving forward?
After reviewing our site, and considering the opportunities lets talk.
Sincerely,
Mitchell Gold

Attention: John MacDonald
I received a telephone call from your secretary to-day and she informed me that you are not interested in working with our "world citizenship" and "how to quit smoking" program. I thank you for the immediacy of your response, even if I am not happy with the particular answer.
As this is a learning experience for me, and to help me in how I move forward, I was wondering if you could articulate for me the thinking behind the decision to not work out a way of proceeding together. I would have thought that your industry would like the profile of such an association, even if is difficult for us to accept the association with your industry. I ask you this, because of all the companies in the world, your industry seems to have the funds to support the type of initiative we are involved with. It appears to be so, anyway. I, on the other hand have no direct knowledge of this capability, and you certainly must have some insight into this.
Would this be a common response of the industry? Would they not be interested in promoting "world citizenship"?. Would they also not be interested in raising awareness of what it means to be healthy?
Assuming you have children, or your friends have children, I would like you to know that I spend my time working for them. I would appreciate you taking the time to respond to this message in order to save me the experience of having to go and learn from each company individually.
In peace,
Mitchell Gold C.A.
