This Voyage is fashioned after the legendary First Nation Peacemaker.
How the Great Peace was brought to the Six Nations. We are in process
of bringing the story into the now.
Beginning on Sept 16 1997 I set out on a thousand day journey. This journey
is to culminate in Greenwich England at an event that is going to have a number
of qualities to it. The qualities will be added as we go along the journey depending
upon what happens and whom we meet. This a part of our
World Citizenship Challenge
.
The purpose of the event in Greenwich is the holding of the IAEWP 10th World Congress.
That was the starting idea around which we have built the International Peace City 2000
project first launched at Spliit Croatia in May 1996. This program suggests that communities
identify activities that they consider to be activities in a City of Peace. These activities
will be shared in some manner at our event. We will also invite Elders form different
communities, through either inter- faith communities, - intellectual communities, civil
society to use this opportunity to share their peace ideas, with the world. One of the main
purposes of this voyage is to bring world mass attention to these matters of importance.
This event took place almost exactly as planned, with the culminating event in Greenwich.
At this conference, we enunciated three Proclamations, with a Fourth to be added at the
event in the following year – 2001.(see below)
Also as we get attention to our initiative, we want to be flexible enough in our educational
program to add to our homeplanet alliance materials - to take additional information, wisdom,
and include these wisdoms to our website.
The site reflects some of the early details of the voyage. We have stopped writing daily
accounts and have accumulated writings around events , conferences, meetings, activities.
Over 150 hours of video have been shot by the 760th day of the voyage and another 80 hours
by the time of this writing. We have done no editing yet. No pictures uploaded yet.
Some teachings have been added to the web site, But there is much to add.
We did win an award with our program from the World Futures Study Federation.
The 1% Solution. - a global tithing. Using a branding concept we intend to
demonstrate the efficacy of our strategy in a test market research program.
We have developed the marketing strategy to move the 1% solution forward with a simple program.
Our budgets are prepared, and we are now ready to develop the
infrastructure necessary to support our vision. We have met with world leaders that support
this initiative and will be coming to our launch event this June 21st 2002 in Toronto.
Media Development
During our travels we have noticed how little attention the major media have paid to our
activities - and I do not mean ours specifically - I mean the many others that are working
through events like the Hague Appeal for Peace, and the more recent Seoul NGO Conference.
I also refer to the movement to create a Spiritual Forum at the United Nations. The mass
media has basically ignored our collective efforts. We are going to use the Internet to provide
the mass communication of our stories. We are developing a “global Media Network” through our
volunteer capacity as we are working with Net Aid and have tremendous volunteer support.
We are also spearheading the development of a Media Strategy for the Hague Appeal for Peace
and integrating it with our Culture of Peace implementation strategy.
Plantings of the tree of Peace
In the tradition of the Peacemaker, we continue the process with our tree plantings. We started in Toronto on September 21, 1999 International Peace Day . We then did a small event at the Global Institute of Peace Studies in Korea on October 16, 1999. We have planted the Tree of Peace in formal ceremonies in Greenwich, England, Brasilia, Brazil and Barcelona, Spain. It has been through these plantings that we have met many spiritual elders, and have developed relationships with them. We went on the Unity Ride called for by Chief Arvol Looking Horse, the 19th Generation Carrier of the White Buffalo Calf Prophecy and became a drum Carrier of the Sacred Unity Drum. Through our Drum we also met many Elders from a variety of traditions. We have met with and consider as friends, Master Hunbatz Men, Leonard Crow Dog, Angaangaq (Inuit Elder), Vern Harper, TYS Lama Gangchen, Sheik Hassan Cisse, and have made the acquaintance of many other wise people from the four corners of the world.
At our event in Greenwich 2000, we were introduced to the Manifesto 2000 document,
and through Pierre Marchand we have agreed to incorporate a primary teaching program
utilizing the values of the Manifesto2000 Document, which was a compilation from Nobel
Laureates, and our own Messages which we have been sharing during our travels.
Peace Messages from elders:

2) stop feeding the warriors on a physical mental emotional
and spiritual level
3) Learn the importance of breath and learn at least one breathing
exercise
4) honour the sacred in everything
5) how does my activity serve a "Culture of Peace"?

Proclamations:
All Educators are Educators for World Peace
All Educators Will Shift Buying Habits of individuals, corporations, institutions, schools, organizations, to support the 1% solution.
Greenwich Peace Time - Greenwich Mean Line is a Symbol for World Peace.
We are now getting ready for our event in Toronto for June 20 –24 th and there will be a variety of components to this event. In overview it will follow the format of our Implementation Strategy ( http://www.homeplanet.org/copimplementationbook4.ppt).
We have a number of other activities that we are currently engaged in relating to this event the foremost of which is the Co- Publication with Berkeley House UK of the Nobel Prize Centennial Edition which will ultimately become our Business Card. Our activity between now and June will be to promote the event, and develop the appropriate infrastructure in order that “world bureaucrats” as well as the person on the street will be able to participate.
Our business plan is sufficiently developed that we may move into Phase 2 swiftly.
We should acknowledge the obstacles to our activities. At every level within society today there are obstacles to what we are attempting. Individual, Family, Community, City Government, Provincial Governments, federal Governments and yes even at the level of the United Nations. All obstacles in each arena are easy to overcome. In time. The main obstacle is in the way media is controlled, and the manner in which it functions. It is the media that controls public opinion, and the polls by which governments choose to organize themselves. Notwithstanding, the media is going to “wake up” at some point in time. Their own fear and lack of understanding of the human condition beyond what they know and what they know they do not know. It is in the areas that they do not know they do not know where the impetus and value of our global strategy. The areas of wisdom and maybe even secret knowledge of the Elders who will be coming together.
I do not know when the media will wake up, but let us be assured that this is necessary for our strategy to be successful.
We invite all media to wake up – and determine a role for themselves in a Culture of Peace, whether it be in editorial comment, argument of the issues (global tithing), educational pedagogy (wholistic education) , sustainable development (not a reductionist view as Canadian Policy directors would have you think).
We invite the media to assist in promoting events supporting a Culture of Peace, and in particular to be responsible in their reporting on our Brand Label, and the other Social values that our label is intended to convey.
We want to report that we have the attention of a number of International Standards organizations encouraging our activities. (UN Global Compact, Global Reporting Index (GRI), SA 8000,) and have formed a strategic alliance with Leadership Horizons who developed the Corporate Social Responsibility program for the Conference Board of Canada.
As this second day of 2002 comes to a close we await patiently to bring together what seems obvious to the writer, a program that will change the way people on our Home planet work together. It was yesterday that the Euro became the coin of 12 European countries. This event affects our program dramatically as it focuses attention on money and values and the foolishness and waste created by the old Nation State system.
No summary would be, or could be complete without mention of the September 11th event that has on its own transformed the world. This was a wake up call but was heard the wrong way. It is like when the alarm goes off in the morning of a deep sleep. You get up quickly and run through your morning agenda without recognizing the sacredness of your own awakening. It is ironic that a “spiritual war” is being waged and no one identifies the behavior of the fundamentalist Christian Right. It is time for a spiritual awakening and this does not come about with bombs.
The Secretary General in his Millennium Report set some pretty decent guidelines for moving into the 21st Century, and most applauded his Report. I believe we have to do better than the Report suggests and I believe our program is the logical, sensible way to proceed.
Our program requires those that get exposed to it, to take ownership of it, and use it for their own community, organization etc.
Those that choose to operate with a vision of a Culture of Peace will understand it is
the way we do things that sets us apart from others, and now above all else it is important
that we learn to work together.
The Peace movement is not a movement at all.
It is an awakening. You either will , or you will not. It is after all up to you and your highest self.
May Peace prevail on Earth, our home planet.
